The CROWN Act: Progress and Challenges in 2025

The 2025 Federal & State-Level Status of The CROWN Act On June 25, amika held an empowering night of culture and connection celebrating The CROWN Act (Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair). The CROWN Act is a law that prohibits discrimination based on natural hair textures and protective hairstyles commonly associated with race, such as braids, locs, twists and Afros.   The event was held at amika’s new Brooklyn, New York headquarters and included a panel of beauty industry professionals who discussed the current status of The CROWN Act as well as ways the hair industry can continue (more…)
