John and Farouk shared a deep friendship and partnership for over 40 years—together, they worked to grow the company’s brands CHI, BioSilk and SunGlitz while putting hairdressers, the environment and education at the forefront.   John began his career in the beauty industry as a child in his mother’s hair salon and went on to own and operate Armstrong McCall Beauty Supply, one of the largest professional distributorships in the United States.
