Section the hair into quadrants. Working in 1/8-inch slices for control, apply Formula A to the new growth, leaving out 1/8 inch at the root. “If there is a lot of regrowth, hit the mids first, then go back to the root,” Ian says. “Otherwise, you’ll get a gold band.”

Lift the regrowth to a Level 8-9, then apply Formula A at the roots.

When lift is achieved, wash the hair with BLONDME Keratin Restore Bonding Shampoo. Apply BLONDME Keratin Restore Bonding Mask for 2 to 3 minutes at the bowl, then rinse and blow-dry.
Section the hair as shown. It’s a forward teardrop section from the crown to just inside the eyebrows, then a horseshoe section at the middle of the head. For the bottom, create a zigzag parting.
Apply Formula B to the bottom section. In the middle section and top section, apply Formula B at the roots and ends ONLY. Process for 20 minutes, then rinse only—do not shampoo or condition.
Blow-dry and re-section the hair.
Apply Formula C to the entire bottom section, working in slices. Use foil to protect the client’s neck. Ian’s pro tip: Use Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Undercoat as a barrier cream!
Release the middle section. Take a ¼-inch vertical slice at the hairline on one side and lay the hair tightly on a foil. Apply Formula C to the roots and feather down to the mids.
Apply Formula D from Formula C in the mids, feathering down as well. Finally, apply Formula C at the ends.
Use a Color Melter to help melt the colors together. Then, either sandwich with another foil, or fold the foil so each section of color lays on itself.
Take another slice right behind the first one. Repeat the same technique, using Formula E at the roots and ends and Formula F in the middle. After the first two foils, leave a ½-inch slice of hair out, then repeat the same technique. Each side of the head should have six foils and three slices without any color.
Ian's pro tip: He chose this color combination combination to avoid placing Formula C (Mauve) and Formula F (Yellow) together—if you know your color theory, you know that those two shades would cancel each other out, and the melt would be a brown shade.
On the slices that were left out, apply Formula C at the root, Formula E in the mids and Formula C at the ends, using a board for control and blending with a brush.
Release the top section and apply Formula C at the root, then Formula E in the mids and Formula C at the ends. Bring the root shade farther down in some sections for more variety and depth. Blend with the Color Melter, then process for 20 minutes.
Rinse the hair with cool water, then lightly shampoo with Schwarzkopf Professional BC BONACURE Color Freeze Sulfate-Free Shampoo. At the bowl, apply the Schwarzkopf Professional BLONDME Keratin Restore Intense Care Bonding Potion, and apply the BLONDME Keratin Restore Bonding Mask on top of the Keratin Restore Intense Care Bonding Potion. Leave on for 5 to 20 minutes, then rinse and towel-dry.
Apply Schwarzkopf Professional BC BONACURE Moisture Kick Spray Conditioner and OSiS+ Session Label Miracle 15. Blow-dry smooth with a paddle brush, then flat-iron the hair, finishing with OSiS+ Elastic Flexible Hold Hairspray.
