Choose The Right Styling Tool To Preserve Length
Maggie recommends waving with a flat iron on bobs and lobs opposed to using a curling iron. “Using a flat iron provides a lot of control when creating curls, especially on bobs,” shares Maggie. “It helps to preserve the length while still creating that perfectly-textured beach wave.”

Get The Steps:
- Starting with damp hair, prep with a mixture of Alterna Haircare Caviar Anti-Aging Anti-Frizz Blowout Butter and Caviar Style Luxe Shape Créme Gel. This will help build fullness and texture, then blow-dry.
- Using a flat iron with minimal tension, take a section and wave the hair in a vertical, circular motion. Leaving the ends out, continue this pattern and alternate the direction of each wave.
- Let the curls cool. Then, apply Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Smoothie Hydra-Gelée Nourishing Hair Perfector to smooth out the ends.
- Apply a dime-size amount of Caviar Style Luxe Shape Créme Gel to your hands, emulsify and piece out the curls.
Educate Clients On At-Home Styling
Maggie recommends that her clients pay attention and ask question as she styles, so they can learn how to create a similar look at home using their flat iron. “I tell my clients to practice with the flat iron powered off and get the motion down first,” shares Maggie. “It makes it easier for them to quickly pick up the technique without burning themselves.” Education also creates opportunity to improve retail sales at the end of an appointment.
