STEPS
Create five sections. Create a horseshoe section at the crown of the head. Beginning at the mastoid up to the apex of the head, create a subsection on each side. Create a center shape, parting from the apex to the nape. Secure with knots.
Starting at the nape, take ½ to ¼ inch parallel diagonal sections. Cut the hair at a 45 degree angle. Overdirect hair to the previously-cut section.
On each side, overdirect the hair to the mastoid, creating a stationary guide. To build movement in the crown, create pie-shaped subsections. Cut the hair straight up from the section, pivoting around the head.
Dry hair thoroughly in order to accurately see the shape before doing any dry cutting techniques. After the hair is blown dry, begin cutting the perimeter to desired shape. Point-cut, or use a backcombing technique to remove bulk or texture.
