When a client with big volume wants to upgrade her look, try this blowout + curl technique from Hot Tools Professional. The secret is creating a super-smooth blowout before curling, and then letting the curls cool completely before brushing the final look into place. Here’s how it’s done!
STEPS
To begin, blow the hair out smooth. Creating a super-smooth canvas will ensure smoother, longer-lasting curls. Then create a braid along the side partline.
Start curling small sections in the crown and pinning the curls in place.
Continue curling, using random sections throughout the head.
Twist the hair as you wrap it around the barrel for a spiral curl.
Make sure all curls have cooled before releasing.
Once all the curls are set and cooled, release one section at a time and brush the curls into place within that section. Then move to the next section.
Continue brushing the curls through the crown and on the side sections.
For the top sections, brush, style and place the curls over the rest of the hair.
Finished look.
