This handbook has been created to give you a clear understanding of our policies, expectations, and the standards that make e.g. Studio Eight Salon an exceptional place to work and a destination our clients love.

3. Employment Classifications
Employment Classifications
e.g. Studio Eight Salon employs team members under the following classification structure: [Employment Classifications Offered]. Full-time status is defined as working a minimum of e.g. 32 hours per week. Your classification determines your eligibility for certain benefits and scheduling considerations.
All new team members are subject to a e.g. 90-week introductory period. During this time, your performance, attendance, and professionalism will be closely evaluated. Successful completion of the introductory period does not guarantee continued employment.
Employment at e.g. Studio Eight Salon is at-will unless otherwise specified in a written agreement signed by e.g. Jamie Rivera.
4. Scheduling & Hours
Scheduling & Hours of Operation
e.g. Studio Eight Salon is open during the following hours: e.g. Tue–Sat 9 AM – 7 PM, Sun 10 AM – 4 PM. Your individual schedule will be communicated via [How Are Schedules Communicated?]. Schedules are typically posted or confirmed with at least e.g. 7 days of advance notice.
If you need to request a schedule change, swap a shift, or adjust your availability, you must provide a minimum of e.g. 7 days' notice to management. Schedule changes are subject to management approval and business needs.
- Arrive at least 10–15 minutes before your first scheduled client.
- Ensure your station is clean, stocked, and ready before the salon opens.
- Notify management immediately if you anticipate being late or absent.
- Do not leave the salon before your scheduled end time without manager approval.
5. Compensation
Compensation & Pay
e.g. Studio Eight Salon compensates team members under a [Primary Pay Structure] structure. Payroll is processed on a [Pay Frequency] basis. Your specific rate of pay will be outlined in your offer letter or employment agreement.

Tip Policy

6. Attendance & Punctuality
Attendance & Punctuality
Consistent, punctual attendance is essential to the success of e.g. Studio Eight Salon and the satisfaction of our clients. Tardiness is recorded if you arrive more than e.g. 5 minutes after your scheduled start time. Repeated tardiness will result in progressive disciplinary action.
Calling Out
If you are unable to report to work, you must notify e.g. Jamie Rivera or your direct manager at least e.g. 2 hours before your scheduled start time. Text messages alone may not be accepted — please confirm your absence was received. Failure to provide adequate notice is considered a no-call/no-show.
More than e.g. 2 consecutive unexcused absences will trigger a formal performance review and may result in termination.
Holiday Policy

7. Professional Appearance
Professional Appearance & Dress Code
As ambassadors of e.g. Studio Eight Salon, all team members are expected to present themselves in a polished, professional manner at all times while on the clock. Your appearance reflects directly on our brand.
e.g. All team members must wear all-black attire. Closed-toe shoes are required. Hair must be styled and presentable at all times.
Fragrance Policy

8. Workplace Conduct
Workplace Conduct & Professionalism
e.g. Studio Eight Salon is committed to maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and professional work environment. All team members are expected to treat clients, colleagues, and vendors with courtesy and respect at all times.
- Gossip, negativity, or drama in the salon will not be tolerated.
- Disputes between team members must be addressed privately and professionally, or escalated to management.
- Harassment, discrimination, or bullying of any kind will result in immediate disciplinary action up to and including termination.
- Confidential client information must never be shared outside the salon.
Cell Phone Policy
Our cell phone policy during services is: [Personal Cell Phone Policy During Services]. Clients deserve your full attention, and personal device use during appointments is disrespectful to both the client and the e.g. Studio Eight Salon brand.
Social Media Policy
Our social media policy is: [Social Media Policy]. When posting content related to e.g. Studio Eight Salon, always represent the brand positively and professionally. Never post images of clients without their explicit written consent.
9. Client Experience Standards
Client Experience Standards
Delivering an exceptional client experience is the cornerstone of e.g. Studio Eight Salon's success. Every client interaction — from the moment they book to the moment they leave — should reflect our commitment to excellence.
e.g. All clients must be greeted within 30 seconds of entering the salon with a warm welcome and offered a beverage.
Booking & Scheduling
All client appointments must be managed through e.g. Vagaro, Mindbody, StyleSeat, Square Appointments. Do not accept bookings via personal phone numbers or social media DMs without management approval. Accurate booking records protect both you and the client.
Cancellation Policy
Clients are required to provide at least e.g. 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. It is your responsibility to communicate this policy clearly at the time of booking and again in appointment reminders.
Service Adjustments
e.g. Complimentary adjustments are offered within 7 days of the original service if the client is unsatisfied.
10. Health, Safety & Sanitation
Health, Safety & Sanitation
e.g. Studio Eight Salon is committed to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety for our clients and team. All sanitation practices must comply with [Primary Sanitation Standard] at all times.
Tool & Equipment Sanitation
All tools, implements, and equipment must be properly sanitized and disinfected [Tool / Equipment Sanitation Frequency]. This is non-negotiable. Failure to maintain sanitation standards is a serious violation and may result in disciplinary action.
Personal Protective Equipment
e.g. Gloves must be worn during all chemical services. Masks are available and encouraged.
Illness Policy
e.g. Employees must not report to work if experiencing fever, vomiting, or contagious skin conditions.
- Report any workplace injuries to management immediately.
- Keep your station and shared areas clean throughout the day.
- Dispose of all chemical waste according to manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.

11. Education & Professional Development

e.g. Studio Eight Salon believes that ongoing education is the foundation of a thriving career in the beauty industry. We encourage all team members to pursue continuing education, attend industry events, and stay current with trends and techniques.
e.g. Senior Stylist, Lead Educator, Salon Manager tracks available based on performance and tenure.
Performance Reviews
Formal performance reviews are conducted on a [Performance Review Frequency] basis. Reviews assess technical skill, client satisfaction, attendance, teamwork, and overall professionalism. Reviews are an opportunity for open dialogue about your growth, goals, and any areas for improvement.
12. Progressive Discipline
Discipline & Corrective Action

Grounds for Immediate Termination
The following conduct may result in immediate termination without prior warning:

13. Resignation & Separation
Resignation & Separation from Employment
If you choose to resign from e.g. Studio Eight Salon, we ask that you provide a minimum of e.g. 2 weeks' written notice. This allows us to properly transition your clients and schedule. Providing adequate notice is a professional courtesy and will be noted in your employment record.
- Submit your resignation in writing to e.g. Jamie Rivera.
- Return all salon property (keys, tools, uniforms, etc.) on or before your last day.
- Your final paycheck will be issued in accordance with applicable state law.
- Client records and contact information remain the property of e.g. Studio Eight Salon.
