The highly-saturated and structured fingerwaves trend made its comeback last year, but this season it's being reimagined by New York Fashion Week designers and (of, course!) their right-hand hairdressers. BTC went backstage at Christopher John Rogers SS19 with amika Artistic Director Naeemah LaFond, and we spotted these subtly-gelled hairline fingerwaves.
For clients who want something personal and edgy, these low-key yet high-shine wave accents will give them that cool-girl (or guy) factor they're looking for. Get the how-to steps and key products used to achieve this look below!

STEPS
First, prep the hair by applying amika The Shield Anti-Humidity Spray to the ends and the back of the head. This heat-activated spray will protect against frizz for up to 24 hours for long-lasting smoothness.
Using an amika The Armory Collection Antidote Silk Wrap Styler, wave linear bends throughout the hair.
Create a strong center part, then mist the top and the sides with water and avoid the ends.
Apply firm-hold gel generously and use a fine-tooth comb to smooth the hair down and shape waves at the hairline.
