Drawing inspiration from the A-list celebrity shade shifters, celebrity colorist Marie Ferro was ready to take on her client Chloe's request for lighter locks (P.S., Chloe is famous songstress Olivia Newton-John's daughter!). Marie transformed her from a chocolate brown into a rich buttery blonde. Best of all, this major color shift was featured in New Beauty magazine! "The blonde brought a brightness to Chloe's face that added softness and glamour to the shoot," notes Marie. Get her formula and bridal styling how-to!
Prework: Clarify with Malibu C
STEPS
Apply Formula A to the regrowth first, then work though the ends and process for 30 minutes.
Place highlights in a diagonal pattern thoughout the hair. Paint with Formula B in-between the foils using a balayage technique on the ends of the hair, and process until sufficiently lifted.
Dry the hair and gloss with Formula C. Process for 30 minutes.
Use Goldwell Double Boost Root Lift Spray at the root, then blow-dry the hair moving the roots back and forth to create volume from roots to ends.
Using a 1 ¼ -inch curling iron, follow the natural movement in the hair placing in vertical shaped curls. Spray each curl with Goldwell Magic Finish Hairspray Gloss, leaving off the last 2 inches on the ends of the hair to create a natural, but polished look.

Once the hair is set it can be formed into various styles—either pulled back on the sides or up in a loose chignon.

"Many times brides don’t know exactly what they are going to feel comfortable with in the way of a style," notes Marie. "Once the set is placed on the hair, it can be shaped into a style they can see in the mirror as you are moving the hair in shapes. Then you get an immediate agreement on what they feel comfortable with style-wise before you commit to placing the shape in."
