This simple, yet oh-so-chic blonde bob combo comes to us all the way from Canada! Sarah McDonald (@styles.by.sarah), a stylist at Bob and Page Salon & Blowdry Bar, created this cut and color on a client who needed an update but wanted to keep her locks natural. "My guest was wanting something low-maintenance to blend out her roots but still wanted to be blonde around her face," says Sarah. Get the how-to below!

STEPS

Before
Paint a full set of babylights by applying Formula A in the back and Formula B in the front. “I did the first few foils around her face right to the root and the rest about ½ an inch away from the root and feathered them up leaving out the already blonde ends,” shares Sarah.
Next, hand paint Formula C on the roots about 2½ inches down while working around the foils to create a drop root. Process for 20 minutes.

At the sink, perform a glam wash (bleach shampoo + Formula D + a splash of hot water + 6 pumps Redken All Soft Shampoo). Let this process on her ends for 5 minutes to lift out old toner and brighten the ends.
Then, apply Formula E on the roots for a root tap (darker toner at the root) to blur out the highlights. Process for 5 minutes, then drag it down about 1½ inches, leaving out the front hairline.
Tone the ends and front hairline using Formula F, then process for 5 minutes.
Next, apply Olaplex No.2 and let process for 5 minutes. Then shampoo and condition.
For the bob cut, Sarah cut off about 2 inches and added some texture throughout. Then, she prepped with Living Proof Full Root Lift, Living Proof Full Thickening Mousse and Living Proof 5-in-1 Styling Treatment and blow-dried.
Once the hair is dry, run a flat iron through the ends and use Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast to add a lightweight texture and extra volume to the look.
