“I started with Redken Full Volume Mousse to build lift and body from root to ends while keeping the hair soft and conditioned," Aika shares. The mousse creates natural fullness and structure without stiffness, which is especially important as changing weather can affect volume.
Pro Tip: Start with a golf-ball-sized amount, emulsify in palms, then work from roots through ends.
“Next is a gloss to smooth and hydrate hair while keeping it incredibly lightweight," Aika says. Apply Redken Naked Gloss Lightweight Shine Oil to add a soft, healthy sheen and heat protection without weighing hair down, keeping everything fluid and natural to the touch.
Pro Tip: Use one pump, emulsify in hands and focus on mid-lengths to ends.
Diffuse on low heat and low power with product already in the hair. “This helps bring out Hudson’s natural wave,” Aika explains, while setting texture and volume and keeping the finish soft, controlled and camera-ready.
“For flexible hold, I layered in Redken Brushable Hairspray to set the shape while preserving movement," Aika adds. This step adds lasting control and humidity resistance while still allowing the hair to be brushed through and reworked as needed.
