When it comes to creating Hollywood’s hottest styles, Nikki Lee—celeb stylist and co-founder of Nine Zero One Salon—knows how to give trends a glamorous update. Old Hollywood waves are one of this year’s most sought-after looks for brides and special occasions, so it was no surprise that Nikki created this vintage style for Emma Roberts. Get the steps below!
STEPS
Start by shampooing and conditioning with ABBA Color Protect Shampoo and Conditioner after coloring the hair. “Since it's a color protectant, it helped to really lock in her cayenne spice red,” shares Nikki.
Towel-dry the hair and apply a mixture of ABBA Smoothing Blow Dry Lotion and ABBA Thermal Protect Spray to give the hair shine and bounce. Then, blow-dry.
After the blow dry, lightly spray ABBA Thermal Protect Spray.
Then, create a deep side part and divide the hair into three sections to set it—the back and two sides.
Starting on one side of the head, begin wrapping small pieces around a 1-inch curling iron from the tip to the root. Secure each piece with a clip to set the curl.
Repeat on the other side and the back, making sure the hair is all curled in the same direction.
Once the hair is set, let it cool for 15 minutes.
Take the set out and start gently brushing with a Mason Pearson Paddle Brush throughout the whole head to create the perfect Hollywood glam shape.
Once you're happy with the shape, lock in the style with ABBA Firm Finish Hair Spray.
