Get The Steps

1. Working in large horizontal sections around the head and clipping the hair away, start by prepping each section with ColorProof TextureCharge® Color Protect Texture and Finishing Spray. For clients with color-treated or fine hair, this lightweight spray will instantly infuse the hair with dry texture and heat protection for an airy, fuller-looking effect.

Pro Tip: Only use lightweight stylers and volumizers on fine and thinning hair otherwise heavy products will weigh the strands down and result in flat, thin and limp braids.

2. After prepping each section, create waves throughout in alternating directions for lived-in texture using a Hot Tools Flat Iron. Allow to cool, then use your fingers to break up the waves—they don’t have to be perfect, since all the hair is going into a braid.

3. Continue this pattern working from bottom to top, applying TextureCharge® and waving in 2-inch sections, then breaking up the waves for textured volume.
