Start with dry, and smooth hair. Working first with the heavier side of the part. Take a section from the part to the round of the head. Lift the entire section straight up combing it smooth.

With the section controlled, over direct the hair to the opposite side of the head.

Drape the section evenly in your comb. Now, maneuver your comb to create the length and shape of the layers. Point cut the line for a soft edge.

Now move the shallow side of the part. Take the side section and over direct to the opposite side of the head.

Drape the section evenly in your comb. maneuver your comb to create the length and shape of the layers. Point cut the line for a soft edge. Note: This side will be cut a bit shorter for balance.

Lift the front section in the comb to create the shape and length of the fringe or bang. In this design the section has been lifted, and over directed towards the part to give it a swept feeling.

Detail the fringe and remember that small details around the face make a big difference.

Gather the side section in your comb. Create a soft blend from the edge of the fringe to the length.

Combing the side section in the position it will be worn. Detail the line to create a clean blend.

Isolate the back section of hair. The size of the section will determine how deeply in to the perimeter you will be layering.

Spread the section evenly in your comb. Point cut to create layers in the back.

Tilting the head down, gather the entire length in the comb. Cut desired length.
