Begin application with any sectioning technique you desire. Weave out first section and place your first pad one inch forward, in line with your section. Using the head as your support, place and fold the pad in the opposite direction of traditional aluminum foils.

Lay the metal tail of a comb flat along the part line and simultaneously fold over the chosen hair onto the cotton pad in the opposite direction, creating a double-backed cotton back base and slide comb out.

Apply lightener or color where needed, using gentle brushstrokes as to not wear down the cotton. As you paint the color onto the hair strands, they will adhere to the color or lightener, and the cotton will adhere to the head, allowing you to paint as close to the root as possible.

Gently roll and fold the cotton pa, to meet cleanly in line with the edge at the parted section, following the root line. Fold twice to create a double backing. Do not squeeze or pack the pads tightly.

Create the section to be left out, fold it over the already wrapped cotton pad and secure it gently out of the way with a clip.

Alternate this pattern with the remaining sections.

Process accordingly at room temperature or with heat.

After processing is complete, remove the pads by gently lifting the edges, removing the back sections first. Proceed to the front, lifting and sliding the pads out, and then disposing.
