    Prep (dampen) hair with Fuel Cutting Mist.

    Section a profile parting down the center of the head from forehead to nape. T to the parting at the high point of the head (headband parting).

    T to the parting, below the occipital and above the nape. The density of this section will depend on the density of the client’s hair.

    Using the non-technical side of the comb horizontally and parallel to the parting, comb hair to natural fall. Challenge yourself to stay at 0 degrees instead of following the shape of the head.

    Move horizontally up the head with a slight diagonal forward parting. Maintain 0 degrees natural fall, and avoid over-elevating or under-elevating.

    Once you reach the T to the parting at the high point of the head, move onto the side of head. Continue to use 0 degree natural fall through diagonal forward parting. Use full overdirection to connect side sections into the back. Full overdirection will help you create a strong A-line.

    Connecting side to back: maintain 0 degree natural fall, using full overdirection to maintain length. Do not over-elevate or under-elevate. Cut to connect.

    Use your shears to help guide the hair from front sides into comb, helping to maintain 0 degree natural fall.
