- 1Step 1 of 9

Sectioning: Start at the corner of the eye, following the parietal ridge to the opposite side. Clip way for control. Subdivide the back section from the occipital to the base of the nape. Subdivide side from parietal to behind the ear.
- 2Step 2 of 9

Take 1-inch vertical partings, holding at a 90-degrree angle, and remove hair to desired length. Use a traveling guide moving toward the ear. Position your body in front of the section being cut.
- 3Step 3 of 9

Use a small section from the previous section to create a new traveling guide. Hold the hair at a 90-degree angle. Over-direct the sections back as you work toward the front hairline. Repeat on the opposite side.
- 4Step 4 of 9

Create a center guide from the high point of the head to the hairline. Start at the high point to create a guide using your previous section. Establish length. Continue over-directing at a 45-degree angle as you move to the hairline and complete the top section.
- 5Step 5 of 9

Glide-cut on dry hair. To customize, walk the shears through the hair without completely closing them to give the ends of the hair aeration for additional texture and stability.
- 6Step 6 of 9
FRINGE: Overdirect the fringe to the opposite side. Hold the hair taut. Walk your shears through from short to long. Repeat on the opposite side.
- 7Step 7 of 9
Cocktail Matrix Style Link Volume Booster and Matrix Style Link Hold Booster and apply to wet hair.
- 8Step 8 of 9
Using a cushion brush, create a directional blow-dry. Once dry, layer in Matrix Texture Builder for movement and separation.
- 9Step 9 of 9
Finishing using Matrix Style Fixer to hold the look in place.
