    Apply amika Blockade: Heat Defense Serum throughout the hair.

    Instead of separating the hair into traditional sections, take varying 1- to 2-inch sections starting in the front.

    Grab a section of hair, place in the amika Confidante Styler, rotate under and release. Next, secure the section, place the flat iron under the first wave, rotate over and release. Repeat until the section is finished, leaving the ends straight.

    For the next section, alternate the angle of the Confidante Styler to create a messy, lived-in look. For example, hold the flat iron parallel to the floor instead of on a diagonal. Continue alternating styler and wave placement as you move throughout the hair.

    Once the waves are finished, apply amika Un.Done Volume and Matte Texture Spray to the hair.

    Use your fingers to massage in the product and break up the waves.

    Use a brush to further loosen the waves with a few light strokes through to the ends for a natural look.

    Apply amika Heist Molding Blend to the ends to create separation and definition.

    Press the remaining Heist Molding Blend residue over the roots to tame any flyaways without disturbing the waves.
