- 1Step 1 of 11
Weave in Formula A along the hairline to create face-framing highlights. Then, alternate between weaving and slicing back-to-back foils. “This creates a strong face-frame, further creating a bold focal point,” shares Gabrielle.
- 2Step 2 of 11
Apply Formula B to the roots and feather the formula down about 2½ to 3 inches. "I love melting cool/ashy glosses into bleach,” says Gabrielle. "This helps to avoid that super brassy/warm midshaft when melting base colors. It also saves you the extra step of having to tone out brass at the bowl.”
- 3Step 3 of 11
Next, part the hair in the center and apply Formula C on diagonal sections that meet together in the back. Alternate between two bleach foils (heavy weave) to one lowlight foil (heavy slice).
- 4Step 4 of 11

- 5Step 5 of 11
Create lowlights by applying Formula D. “I chose this lowlight because it's the perfect level and depth to add natural and believable dimension, and it fades beautifully,” says Gabrielle.
- 6Step 6 of 11
Then, gloss the back sections of the hair only with Formula E. Leaving out the face-framing sections will ensure it stays bright. Process for 5 minutes on towel-dried hair.
- 7Step 7 of 11
Using Formula F, “feather-shadow” at the root of the highlights about a ½ inch to blend the highlights into the scalp. Process for 5 minutes on towel-dried hair.
