Cut the excess length off in a ponytail and create a horseshoe parting from recession to recession to divide the head shape. Use a block graduation technique to eliminate length and weight by cutting a 1-inch section below the horseshoe to 1-inch in length.

Using a scissor-over-comb technique, create a slight taper from the hairline to the block graduation weight line.

Overdirect parallel sections to the previous guide to increase weight towards the sides of the head shape.

Dry the rest of the hair with a flat brush and customize the shape with deep parallel point-cutting and channel cutting through the length. Style the shape with wax using your fingers to comb it back.
