Create the guide with 1/8 inch into a V-shape at the occipital.

To detail the front hairline, begin by brushing the hair forward. Start in the center working outwards, being cautious not to “push back” the client’s hairline. Follow the natural hairline as much as possible. Use the arch of the eyebrow as the endpoint of the hairline.

To get a cleaner look around the hairline without using a straight razor, try a foil shaver.
