When you think of voluminous hair, you may first think about women’s long locks, but men want to pump up the volume, too! Start with a three-step regimen, Tea Tree Scalp Care Anti-Thinning from Paul Mitchell, then give him this relaxed, easy cut! Here are the steps. (more…)
  1. 1Step 1 of 9

Start with freshly washed hair using Tea Tree Scalp Care Anti-Thinning Shampoo and Conditioner. Divide the hair from the high point of the head down to the top of each ear, separating the front from the back.
  2. 2Step 2 of 9

Begin the haircut in the back. Take a center pivoting section, elevate it high and cut a flat layer.
  3. 3Step 3 of 9

Continue taking pivoting sections, working from the center back toward the front of the head. Over-direct each section toward the previous one.
  4. 4Step 4 of 9

Once the ear is reached, the guide will become stationary and the sections will become vertical, moving toward the face.
  5. 5Step 5 of 9

Repeat this process on both sides of the head. Make sure to overdirect each section back toward the previous one.
  6. 6Step 6 of 9

Once the ear is reached, the guide will become stationary and the sections will become vertical, moving toward the face. All sections should be cut flat.
  7. 7Step 7 of 9

Once all the layering is complete, move to the front right area. With low elevation, point-cut a square perimeter shape, working from the front to the center back.
  8. 8Step 8 of 9

Repeat this same process on the other side of the head. Make sure to start in the front and work toward the center back. Check for balance.

To finish the look, apply Tea Tree Styling Gel to wet hair and work through, then use the Neuro Dry without a nozzle to pre-dry the hair for maximum texture. Finish by diffusing the hair to "push" volume and texture into the edges of the shape.
