Part the hair into quadrants.
- 3Step 3 of 11

Beginning on one side in the back, take horizontal sections, stitch out through the top, backcomb, then apply Formula A through the remaining strands. Separate with foil.
Note: For this technique, be sure to not fold or bend any strands. Add another layer of foil over the top.
- 4Step 4 of 11

Continue working up the head until you reach the crown, then move to the other quadrant in the back section, working up the head.
- 5Step 5 of 11

Moving into the front, take horizontal-back sections along one side of the head. Stitch out through the top of the section, backcomb, then apply Formula A through the remaining strands and separate with foil.
- 6Step 6 of 11

Continue working up the head to the top, then move to the remaining quadrant in the front, working up to the apex in horizontal-back sections.
- 7Step 7 of 11

When foiling is complete, inspect the first foils you placed and the other foils throughout to analyze how each section is lightening. Determine where there are areas of darkness, spotting from previous color applications or sections that are slower to lighten.
- 8Step 8 of 11

Apply The Blonde Wand to sections that need more lightening by gently and evenly sliding The Blonde Wand over the top of the foils 10-15 times. Check the progress of the lightening. You may continue to pass The Blonde Wand over the section more times or choose to move on to the remaining sections if the desired level of lightness is achieved.
- 9Step 9 of 11

When all foils are evenly lightened, shampoo and condition the hair using THE PERFECT BLONDE Purple Toning Shampoo and Conditioner.
