  1. 1Step 1 of 6

Section the hair based on the client’s natural part, then section front to back, clipping the back away.

  2. 2Step 2 of 6
    In Process Summertime Platinum Color

Beginning in the front, balayage using Formula A in ½-inch sections, applying the color in a pattern “similar to that of cell phone service bars,” shares Jenna, “from higher around the face to a little lower toward the back of the section.” Jenna left very thin slices between each ½-inch section to add dimension. She also used saran wrap to keep the sections from bleeding.

  3. 3Step 3 of 6

In the back, apply Formula B in V-shaped sections, this time leaving out a thicker slice between each section. Jenna says here, the V pattern is key to keeping the ends nice and light.

  4. 4Step 4 of 6

Process for 35 minutes with no heat, then rinse, shampoo using UNITE BLONDA Shampoo and towel-dry.

  5. 5Step 5 of 6

Apply Formula C and process for 15 minutes. Rinse and condition using UNITE BLONDA Conditioner.

  6. 6Step 6 of 6

Apply UNITE 7Seconds Condition Leave In Detangler, then blow-dry smooth with a round brush, and create curls using a 2-inch Marcel Curling Iron. Finish with UNITE TEXTURIZA Spray.
