Before
- 2Step 2 of 17

Part the hair down the center and create three sections: one on each side of the face (from the back of the ears forward) and one in the back.
- 3Step 3 of 17

Create a V-shaped section at the bottom of the back section, then pin the rest of the hair out of the way.
- 4Step 4 of 17

Carve out a section, lay it on a foil and apply Formula A. Repeat on the opposite side.
- 5Step 5 of 17

Take a horizontal slice section above the V-shaped section. Weave the hair and apply Formula A, being sure to fully saturate the ends.
- 6Step 6 of 17

Repeat, taking a V-shaped section above that, then weave and apply Formula A.
- 7Step 7 of 17

Clip this foil out of the way, then use the “slice, skip, slice” technique to separate another section. Apply Formula B, leaving the ends out of the foil.
- 8Step 8 of 17

From this point, create a bricklay effect by repeating steps 3 to 6 until you reach the top of the head.
- 9Step 9 of 17

View of the completed back section.
- 10Step 10 of 17

Take a small, 3-inch wide section from the front fringe area and clip it out of the way. Then, take a section along the hairline that extends from the top of the temple to the bottom of the ear. Do a fine weave with Formula A. Take another section behind the previous and repeat the process. Continue using Formula A on the pieces close to the face.
- 11Step 11 of 17

Take another section, then weave and apply Formula A. Pin the section out of the way, then do a slice with Formula B. Continue working in slightly diagonal sections to create a bricklay effect until you reach the top.
- 12Step 12 of 17

Repeat the process on the opposite side.
- 13Step 13 of 17

Take fine horizontal sections at the fringe, weaving close to the front of the head with Formula A.
- 14Step 14 of 17

View of the completed technique. Process for 35 minutes at room temperature. Rinse the hair, then shampoo with Joico Color Balance Blue.
- 15Step 15 of 17

Apply Formula C all over, then process at room temperature for 20 minutes. Shampoo and condition with Joico Color Balance Blue. Rinse and style the hair.
