Pixies, Bixies, Bangs, Medium-Length & Bobs Are Trending for Fall/Winter 2025

In fall and winter 2025, haircuts are all about short, sharp crops, the versatility of the classic midlength, the softness of an airy bob and the contrast of a sleek, blunt bob. Pair any of these looks with a statement fringe, and you’ve got the defining cuts of the season, straight from the pros.

Celebrity hairstylists and hair influencers are calling these the haircuts to watch, and we’re sharing the pro breakdowns you need to master each look with ease.

1. Full, Airy Pixies & Bixies

Short crops are taking center stage this season, and a whimsical pixie-bixie hybrid is our new go-to. Think gamine energy with a modern edge, as stars like Florence Pugh, Quinta Brunson and Zoë Kravitz have made this look a red-carpet staple.

Bixie Cutting & Styling Tip: “Use a razor or texturizing shear to carve in choppy layers. For styling, apply Moroccanoil® Volumizing Mousse and Dry Texture Spray before rough-drying. A leave-in conditioner keeps the ends soft, and trims every four to six weeks are a must to keep the look fresh,” explains celebrity stylist and Moroccanoil Ambassador Dimitris Giannetos (@dimitrishair).

Model Delilah Belle Hamlin debuts the grown-out pixie, freshly coined by Dimitris as “The Artichoke Cut.”

The Perfect Pixie Finish: “Salt spray is key to achieving this style. Bumble and bumble. Surf Spray gives the hair grit and muscle for a tousled, textured look. For finishing, I love Bumble and bumble. Sumo Tech for satin softness, or Sumo Spray for a wet-shine finish,” shares celebrity stylist Davey Matthew (@daveydidmyhair).

2. Long Layers & Bangs

For clients who want to keep their length but still crave a change, fringe is the update that makes a major impact without sacrificing inches. The beauty of this trend is its versatility: soft curtain bangs frame the face and add movement, while denser, heavier bangs create a stronger, more fashion-forward statement.

Either way, bangs instantly refresh long hair by breaking up the shape and giving the illusion of layers—even if the client isn’t ready for a full cut.

This trend has become a staple among celebs like Blackpink’s Lisa, Mia Goth, Sabrina Carpenter and Dakota Johnson, and for stylists, the opportunity lies in customization. Use bangs to alter proportions, highlight bone structure or modernize existing layers. A cheekbone-skimming curtain fringe can lengthen the face, while a heavier bang can soften sharper features or add drama to otherwise minimal cuts.

3. The Classic Midlength

This season’s most versatile haircut sits right in the sweet spot, offering versatility and customization options for every client. The beauty of the classic midlength is its adaptability, with a medium length that can be customized with more layering for face-framing movement or less layering for a sleeker silhouette.

Seen on celebrities like Selena Gomez and Lori Harvey, this cut is all about fluid, flattering layers that create shape without sacrificing length. It’s a wearable update for clients who want a change but aren’t ready to commit to short hair.
