Loosely curl the hair, creating tighter curls around the face. Alternate the direction of the curl.
- 4Step 4 of 16

- 5Step 5 of 16

Section out the crown in a circle and clip it up. Make sure to leave enough hair around the face to create a chunky braid.
- 6Step 6 of 16

Backcomb the base and spray some texture spray. Beginning at the nape, create a Dutch braid. As you braid, only add hair to the bottom piece, not the top piece.
- 7Step 7 of 16

When you reach the ear, make sure to add most of the hair on that side of the head to avoid pulling hair in awkward directions. Continue the braid up around to the top of the head and around.
- 8Step 8 of 16

Finish off the braid, spray with texture spray and pull out the end of the braid to bulk it up and create detail. Work your way up the braid, detailing as you go.
- 9Step 9 of 16

- 10Step 10 of 16

Let down the middle section and create a regular three-strand braid, spraying with texture spray before bulking and detailing the braid.
- 11Step 11 of 16

Wrap the braid around the head and pin the ends.
- 12Step 12 of 16

Finish by detailing the braids, touching up some of the loose pieces with a curling iron.
