This year, expect edgy textures to be in—think street-chic and undone. To help you achieve the wavy, disheveled look she craves, Jenny Strebe from Confessions of a Hairstylist shares her trick using new Kenra Platinum Texture Wax 10 and other products from the Kenra Platinum Texture Collection, to get raw, undefined texture. Here’s how to properly use the wax to create a cool, hip look on a long angled bob. (more…)

    Start with damp, towel-dried hair.

Lightly spray Kenra Platinum Texturizing Mist 6 from midlengths to ends.

Blow-dry the hair, concentrating on picking up the roots and adding volume at the root area. The mist will give the hair a lot of texture and volume.

  4. 4Step 4 of 7

Go back through the hair with a flat iron, adding a tiny bit of bend to the hair to create a more disheveled feel.

  5. 5Step 5 of 7

Using the flat iron, clamp down on the midshafts, pulling the iron through leaving the ends out. “This is a really popular technique right now for disheveled bobs,” notes Jenny.

Finish the textured look by applying Kenra Platinum Texture Wax. Dispense a small amount in the palm of your hands, emulsify the product and run it through the hair. Really concentrate on the Mohawk section at the top, as this will add lots of texture to the hair.
