Apply Formula A to the regrowth area, being careful not to overlap the formula onto previously-lightened sections. Process for 25 minutes.

- 5Step 5 of 13

Apply Formula B to previously-lightened hair, from just off the scalp through the ends. Process for an additional 10 minutes. Shampoo and tone at the bowl with Formula C.

Blow-dry the hair until it is completely dry. "The hair must be this level of lightness or above to attempt a true silver color," says Julie. "Here, I also gave her a healthy haircut to accentuate the desired color."
- 7Step 7 of 13

Apply Formula D to the roots and drag the formula ¾ inch down the midshaft, fully saturating the hair. Feather out the ends to avoid making a harsh line.
- 8Step 8 of 13

- 9Step 9 of 13

Apply Formula E to the remaining blonde ends of the hair. "Make sure to comb the bottom of the silver color to free up any tangles created by the oxidative color processing," advises Julie. Then, generously saturate the ends by using your first two fingers to blend the blue to your desired height up over the silver. Process for 30 minutes. Then shampoo, blow-dry and style as desired.
