When Jack Martin’s (@jackmartincolorist) client came into his salon in Tustin, Calif., her hair was a brassy mess. After eight hours of hard work and a lot of Olaplex, she left with this stunning icy balayage. Since the BTC community couldn’t believe this dramatic transformation was achieved in just one process, we asked Jack for his color formulas and how-to!     Apply Formula A to the regrowth starting one inch from the roots. Process for 30 minutes.

    Continue with Formula A throughout the rest of the hair, and process for one hour, re-applying to stubborn areas until you reach a Level 10 yellow blonde.

    Rinse, dry and apply Formula B to roots and resistant areas. Process for 30 minutes. “No heat was used at any time during processing,” says Jack, “but I used a plastic cap while bleaching for faster and more effective results.”

    Apply Formula C to the roots, then Formula D to the rest of the hair. Process for 25 minutes.

    Apply Olaplex No.2 and process for 20 minutes, then shampoo.

    Cut and style with a 2-inch curling iron, pinning and setting the curls for 15 minutes for longer-lasting results.
