Section a horseshoe parting from ear to ear. For the front area, take triangle sections starting above the round of the head to 1-inch above the hairline on each side of the center part.

For the back area, use the same triangle section behind each ear, and a third sideways triangle in the center back.

Prelighten the mid-strand (2 inches from the scalp to 2 inches from the ends) in triangle sections only, using Wella Professionals Blondor Multi Blonde Powder.

Work around the head in vertical sections to hand paint Formulas A-D throughout. Create gradation, using a smudging technique, to transition one shade to another.

The energy of the sunburst inspired this creative haircolor design from Wella Professionals Artists, Brenton Lee and Mark DeBolt. Pops of vivid red, fuchsia and emerald green melt together to create an inspiring celebration of color. The colors and the texture of the hair complement and play off one another beautifully. Using Wella Professionals Color.id, which “beefs up” Koleston Perfect and ILLUMINA formulas, they were able to paint the color on the hair without fear of bleeding or running. (more…)
