When people think winter wonderland, they tend to veer from sunny California—and definitely Modesto, CA. In order to create a snow-inspired blonde, Chipo Mulenga of Hair by Chipo created her own vision of a winter wonderland. However, instead of using demi-permanent colors, Chipo used permanent color to achieve maximum penetration into her client’s cortex, leaving her client with a stunning and pure platinum blonde!

The Formulas
- Starting Level:
- 5
- Formula A:
- 1 scoop Wella Blondor Multi Blonde Lightener + 2 oz. 40-volume developer + 1/8 oz. Olaplex
- Formula B:
- 1 scoop Wella Blondor Multi Blonde Lightener + 2 oz. 30-volume peroxide + 1/8 oz. Olaplex
- Formula C:
- Matrix Ultra Blonde VV High Lift Color + 20-volume developer
Steps
- Begin by applying Formula A to the roots alone and process for 30 minutes, depending on hair starting level.
- Wash without shampoo and dry completely.
- Apply Formula B to the roots only; process for 30 minutes maximum. Dry the hair completely.
- Apply Formula C throughout the entirety of the hair, roots to end. Make sure the blonde is past a pale yellow before proceeding with the highlight color. Process for 30 to 40 minutes.
- Rinse the hair with Olaplex #2 and allow the hair to process for 10 minutes.
- Shampoo and condition with Joico Reconstructive Shampoo and Conditioner. Do not apply any Shimmer Lights shampoo, as it will turn the hair purple or silver.
- Blow-dry until damp, and then apply Kenra Silkening Gloss.
- Cut the hair, and style as desired. Finish with Kenra Shine Spray and Kenra Number 13 Finishing Spray for a light hold.
