Inspired by Julianne Hough’s decision to go drop dead red earlier this year (peep the formula here!), a client of Somboun June (@sombounjune), owner of Grace Hill Salon in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada, decided she wanted to rock a rich red this fall. The catch? Her starting level was a dark Level 3/4. Working off a red ombré base—which was created during the first session—Somboun achieved the auburn of her client's dreams with a second session. Find out how by checking out the formulas and how-to steps below!
The Formulas
- Starting Level:
- During the first session, Somboun pre-balayaged her client and gave her a red ombré.
Steps
1. At the second session, paint highlights throughout the head using Formula A and let process until she reaches a Level 8.
2. Then, apply Formula B in between the foils to soften everything. Process until she reaches a Level 6/7.
3. Rinse, then apply Formula C throughout Zone 1 and Formula D throughout Zones 2 and 3. Let process.
4. Rinse again, blow-dry and style as desired.
