The official theme of 2024 (and every red carpet of the season thus far): Golden blondes and bobs galore. LA’s resident bright blonde bombshell, Sydney Sweeney herself, has officially opted for the “Quiet Luxury” bob, paired with a sultry dark suede blonde. As her colorist Jacob Schwartz (@jacobschwarzthair) transitioned Sydney’s brighter blonde into a deeper, low-lighted blend, here was his game plan:
- Jacob strategically left out remaining highlights around Sydney’s face accentuating her new chopped bob by celebrity stylist Glen Oropeza (@glencocoforhair) who cut Sydney’s hair into a luxe bob that falls right underneath the chin.

- Jacob added dimension and depth inside her new hair to give her movement with the Schwarzkopf Professional® Demi-Permanent IGORA® VIBRANCE line.
The Formulas
- Formula A (lowlights #1)
- Schwarzkopf Professional® IGORA VIBRANCE 7-0 + 7-1 (1:1) + IGORA VIBRANCE Activator Lotion 1.9%
- Formula B (lowlights #2)
- IGORA VIBRANCE 8-0 + 9-55 (1:1) + IGORA VIBRANCE Activator Lotion 1.9% (1:1)
- Formula C (lowlights #3)
- IGORA VIBRANCE 6-0 + 7-0 (1:3) + IGORA VIBRANCE Activator Lotion 1.9%
- Formula D (lowlights #4)
- IGORA VIBRANCE 8-0 + 9-55 (1:1) + IGORA VIBRANCE Activator Lotion 1.9%
- Formula E (lowlights #5 between foils)
- IGORA VIBRANCE 7-1 + 8-0 (1:1) + IGORA VIBRANCE Activator Lotion 1.9%
- Formula F (hairline application)
- IGORA VIBRANCE 9-0 + 9-1 (1:1) + IGORA VIBRANCE Activator Lotion 1.9%
Steps
1, Apply the first round of lowlights using Formula A throughout the top section and Formula B throughout the bottom section.
2. Shampoo and condition, then dry hair.
3. Apply the second round of darker lowlights, with Formula C through the top and Formula D through the bottom section of hair.
4. Between the foils, apply Formula E. Process for 20 minutes.
5. For the last five minutes, apply Formula F around the hairline. Pro Tip: Lift up the ends when rinsing at the bowl to maintain lightness and avoid darker color overlap.
6. Shampoo and condition. Celebrity stylist Glen then styled by creating a voluminous, side-swept and beveled blowout with a dramatic side part.
