Warm, golden colors will be the hottest shades of this season, so it's time to get ready to nail the look—learn how studio owner and PRAVANA Global Educator of the Year Taylor Rae (@taylorrae_hair) created these gorgeous soft copper curls with tons of dimension on a natural Level 4 base.
Taylor spilled her toning formulas and process with us, and she’s sharing secrets below!
The Formulas
- Formula A (lightener):
- 20g PRAVANA Pure Light Blonding Cremé + 40g 10-volume PRAVANA Creme Developer
- Formula B (toner):
- 20g PRAVANA ChromaSilk Platinum Toner Spice + 10g Platinum Toner Gold + 45g PRAVANA Zero Lift Creme Developer
Steps
1. Divide the hair into four equal sections, using a radial section from ear to ear and a vertical parting from the top of the head to the nape.
2. Highlight the hair using a chunky weave in horizontal sections with a bricklay pattern and apply Formula A.
3. Process up to 55 minutes at room temperature, checking every 5 to 10 minutes until you reach a Level 9.
4. Cleanse with PRAVANA’s Color Protect Cleanse and towel-dry well.
5. Apply Formula B from roots to ends.
6. Process for 10 minutes.
7. Cleanse lightly and condition with PRAVANA’s Color Protect Cleanse and Conditioner regimen.
8. Style as desired. Finished look:
