Every once in a while, a haircolor comes along that is so pretty it stops us in our tracks—we give it a quick double tap on Insta and wonder how to create it in real life. Matrix Artistic Director Dan Csicsai (@dancsicsaihair) did that with his recent blush blonde, so naturally, we asked him for the details. Starting with a double-process blonde and then toning to a perfect pink hue, here are the formulas and quick steps for creating this so chic pink.
The Formulas
- Formula A:
- Matrix Light Master Lightening Powder + 10-volume developer
- Formula B:
- Matrix Color Sync 8V + 10P + Matrix Watercolors Quartz Pink + 10-volume developer
- Formula C:
- Color Sync 10P + Clear + SPV + Watercolors Quartz Pink + 10-volume developer
Steps
1. Lighten the hair by applying Formula A all over, let process and rinse.
2. If necessary, lighten again with Formula A until reaching pale blonde. Then, let process and rinse.
3. Next, apply Formula B at the roots and blend down to the midlengths.
4. Then, apply Formula C from the midlengths through to the ends.
5. Let toners process, then rinse, blow-dry and style as desired.
