The Formulas
- Formula A (lightener)
- L’ANZA Healing Haircare Powder Decolorizer + L’ANZA Cream Developer 20-Volume
- Formula B (root)
- L’ANZA VIBES Smoke
- Formula C
- Equal parts VIBES Magenta + VIBES Orange
- Formula D
- 3 parts Clear + 1 part VIBES Orange
Steps
1. Prelighten the base with Formula A, avoiding the existing prelightened ends. Process until a Level 9/10 is achieved.
2. Apply Formula B at the root, melting it down by adding L’ANZA VIBES Clear.
3. Apply Formulas C and D, using Clear to dilute the shades even more. Shmeggs paints creatively, using her artistic eye to determine where to place the colors. “Some colors ran together and created more cool colors, so I ran with it!”
4. Process, rinse and blow-dry.
5. To prep the hair for a braid, Shmeggs likes to use Sexy Hair Healthy Sexy Hair Surfrider Spray. “It gives the hair a gritty texture, especially when the hair is fine or really clean.” On coarser hair, Shmeggs recommends spraying Healthy Sexy Hair So Touchable Weightless Hairspray on a boar bristle brush and brushing through to smooth and fight frizz before braiding.
6. Shmeggs braided the hair with a Figure 8 technique, then finished with So Touchable Weightless Hairspray.
