For a lot of clients, a change in seasons means it's time for a hair change, but sometimes, a routine trim doesn't cut it. Winter is a great time to add a little depth, just like Mika Rogerson (@mikaatbhc), a stylist at The Boulevard Hair Company in Greenville, N.C., did with this rooted blonde color formula. The Formulas
- Natural/Starting Level: :
- Level 10.5/11 Cool Blonde
- Formula A:
- Beth Minardi Demi ½ oz. 5ICE + 2 oz. 7ICE + Olaplex No.1
- Formula B:
- Wella Professionals BLONDOR Freelights 30-volume + Olaplex No.1
- Formula C:
- Redken Shades EQ 8V + Olaplex No.1
- Formula D:
- Wella Color Touch 10/81 + Color Touch 10/01 + Olaplex No.1
Steps
1. Start by applying Formula A, then balayage using Formula B.
2. Blend in Formula C and comb through the midshaft with a wide-tooth comb, leaving out about 3 inches at the bottom.
3. Rinse the hair, then apply Formula D on the 3 inches that were left out in Step 2 and process for 8 minutes.
4. Dry the hair and create relaxed waves using a 1½-inch curling iron and finish with Kenra Professional Platinum Dry Texture Spray 6.
