Some clients want to go lighter and brighter in the summer while others consider it the ideal time to give fashion colors a try. If your client fits the latter category, then we have a formula from BTC Team Member Frances Garcia (@makeupbyfrances) that you'll want to save. Keep reading to learn how Frances seamlessly melts a dark shadow root into a rich red balayage!
Pricing: "I usually charge $90 to $130 for a double process like this," shares Frances. "Since her hair is very fine and a shorter length, it took half the time than a typical client would so I charged her $90."
Steps
1. Paint Formula A on the ends and let process for 45 minutes.
2. Rinse and shampoo, then apply Formula B throughout her base and Formula C on the prelightened ends. Process for 25 minutes.
Note: Frances likes to use Kadus Professional Permanent Color because the color locks right in to the hair and eventually results in a beautiful, even fade out (even high-maintenance shades of red!).
3. Shampoo again, then create a magenta mask by mixing your go-to hair mask with a fuchsia direct dye for an added boost of color.
4. Leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse, blow-dry and style as desired.
