A balayage base is what takes this pink ribboned look to the next level. Keep scrolling for the details from BTC Team Member Megan Schipani (@shmeggsandbaconn)!

The Formulas

Formula A
L’ANZA Healing Haircare Powder Decolorizer + 30-volume developer + b3 Brazilian Bond Builder
Formula B
L’ANZA VIBES Magenta
Formula C
PRAVANA VIVIDS Too Cute Coral
Formula D
Pulp Riot Candy
Formula E
Pulp Riot Lava
Formula F
Pulp Riot Clear + Pulp Riot Candy + Pulp Riot Lava + a dot of L’ANZA VIBES Magenta

Steps

1. This client had previous balayage that was green. Megan wanted to lift out the green and brighten the blonde, but wanted the lift to be slow (“because she has a lot of hair and I’m slow!” Megan said), so she balayaged with Formula A on wet hair.

2. After processing, rinse and dry. Apply Formula B at the base and as a lowlight.

3. Alternate sections (in ribbons) of Formulas C, D, E and F. Megan’s trick is this: “I keep a bowl of Clear on hand to melt all the colors into more pastel versions on the ends.”
