Who is an ideal client for this look?
“This color works best with people that are a Level 6 or lighter,” explains Bel. Consider lifestyle—in the consultation, educate your client on why maintaining warmth takes extra maintenance to look salon-fresh, so you can manage their expectations.
What can clients expect from their appointment?
“This was originally a full head of fine foils with tip outs,” Bel explains, adding that, “This technique does take time to begin with. Once that initial larger appointment is done, then touch-up appointments are much quicker.”
How can clients care for golden tones?
“With colors like this, I’d recommend coming in around the 8 to 12 week mark,” Bel says. “If you want to go lighter like this, it’s so important to look after your hair with a good home routine with quality products. Invest in good hot tools and brushes, too.” Here are some of her favorites:

- Formula A (lightener):
- evo bottle blonde lightener + 20-volume developer
- Formula B (root tap):

Steps
Step 1: Apply a root touch-up with Formula A, adding tip outs where brightness is needed.
Step 2: Rinse; then, apply Formula B as a root tap and Formula C to the ends, blending through the mids.
Step 3: Wash and prep the hair with evo Day of Grace Pre-Style Primer.
Step 4: Add evo Happy Campers Wearable Treatment to help with detangling and sectioning during cutting. When ready to style, apply evo Mister Fantastic Blowout Spray to add hold.
Step 5: Finish with evo Love Touch Shine Spray for extra shine.
