And after this money piece melt she created received more than 15,000 likes on our Insta, we had to get her secrets behind the look. Check out her formulas and steps below.
The Formulas
- Formula A:
- ½ oz. Redken Shade EQ 8GI + ¼ oz. 8GG + ¼ oz. 7NB + 1 oz. Shades EQ Processing Solution
- Formula B:
- ½ oz. L’Oréal Professionnel DIA Richesse 5.3 + ¼ oz. 5N + ¼ oz. 5.13 + 1¼ oz. 9-volume developer
- Formula C:
- L’ANZA Healing Haircare Decolorizer Powder Lightener + 10-volume developer
- Formula D:
- ½ oz. DIA Richesse 5n + ½ oz. 6.13 + 1 oz. 9-volume developer
- Formula E:
- Shades EQ ½ oz. 9GI + ½ oz. 9NW + 1 oz. Processing Solution
Steps
1. Shampoo hair with Unite Weekender for a deep cleanse, then towel-dry to get most of the moisture out. Apply Formula A all over for 15 minutes to fill in the warmth, then rinse and blow-dry.
2. Next, lowlight with Formula B using ½- to 1-inch sections, leaving out the ends on every other section and weaving heavily where you want the highlight to pop under the lowlight.
Pro Tip: Leave about one inch out around the front hairline for the blonde to really pop under the lowlights.
3. With the hair that was left out of the weaves, go back and paint those pieces and the front hairline using Formula C. Then rinse, shampoo with Wella Professionals Service Colour Post Treatment and towel-dry.
4. Apply Formula D at the roots and down about one to two inches, leaving out the hairline until the rest of the color is applied.
5. Then, apply Formula E to the ends and process. Rinse, shampoo and apply Unite Boosta Blow-Dry Cream throughout and Boosta Spray at the root. Finish with 1¼-inch Bio Ionic Curling Iron to add wavy texture.
