At BTC, the transition from winter to spring means trading in your jackets for dresses and switching from red wine to rosé. And speaking of rosé, this pink metallic shade created by Stephanie Raiche (@sraiche) from the Mint Hair Lounge in Port Moody, BC has us dreaming of some blushing bubbly. Here’s how she took her client from a wintry silver to this perfect shade of spring—and it received more than 13,000 likes on our Instagram!

Stephanie created this silver-purple shade on her client as an end-of-winter color using Wella BLONDOR and toning with Color Touch 10-6 (30g) and 0-65 (8g). Seven weeks later, her client returned to get her roots done and to add in some pink. Here’s a look at the transformation.

The Formulas

Formula A:
Wella BLONDOR + 20-volume developer
Formula B (toner):
Wella Pink Dream + Wella Color Touch Emulsion 1.9% (6-volume)
Formula C:
Wella Color Touch Relights 0-86 (20g) + 0-56 (7g) + Wella Color Touch Emulsion 1.9% (6-volume)

Steps

1. Apply Formula A to the root area to bring her new growth to a pale blonde. Then, because her client already had a purple-ashy tone on the ends, Stephanie applied Formula A throughout the midlengths and the ends for only about 10 minutes at the shampoo bowl. Then rinse.

2. Tone with Formula B on towel-dried hair for 15 minutes.

3. Apply Formula C to the roots for 15 minutes and to the midlengths and ends for 10 minutes. (This step will depend on how the hair takes the color in Step 2 and on your client’s desired end result.) Rinse and blow-dry.

4. Finish the look with a blunt bob cut.
