The money piece—those bright and bold ribbons of light that perfectly contour the face—is the spot where your clients want to see the most brightness. That’s why all colorists (especially balayage and blonding specialists!) should know formulas and techniques to slay a money piece on every haircolor. Just peep these high-contrast highlights by Cali-based colorist Jordan Pardo's (@jordangabeeee)! We’re obsessed with this dramatic sun-kissed effect, so we’re sharing all the deets below.
Steps
1. Start by applying Formula A and paint a full highlight and foilyage. Working more heavily in the front sections, put an emphasis around the face frame with back-to-back foils for that money piece effect. Process, then rinse.
2. Apply Formula B to the root area to create a shadow root. Process.
3. Then, apply Formula C all over. Process, then rinse.
4. Style as desired.
