The Formulas
- Starting Level:
- Over-Processed Level 8
Steps
1. Apply Formula A from the roots to the midlengths, and process for 20 minutes.
2. Rinse and blow-dry, then freehand-paint Formula B from the roots to the midlengths over the previously colored hair.
3. Then, balayage with Formula C, and process for 30 minutes. “Her ends were already pretty light but she wanted some dimension, and I wanted to break up that demarcation line,” shares Rebecca.
4. Rinse, then tone with Formula D.
5. Working on damp hair, apply Paul Mitchell MarulaOil Rare Oil Style Extending Primer throughout. Then, blow-dry using a medium round brush.
6. Spray her hair with Paul Mitchell MarulaOil Rare Oil Perfecting Hairspray, then take large vertical sections and create loose waves using the Bio Ionic Long Barrel Styler Pro Curling Iron.
7. Run your fingers through the waves, then create two loose two-strand braids that meet in the back. Wrap the pieces with hair and secure the style with a bobby pin.
