Ugh, that BLACK HOLE. When a platinum retouch client waits too long to come in, it’s no longer a platinum retouch—it’s a color correction, and it’s going to cost her. Watch Virginia-based Nam Nguyen (@namnguyenhair) take this client back to full-on platinum over the course of two sessions with the help of his assistant @beautybylaurenanne.
Pricing
First Session: $450

The Formulas

- Formula B
- Kenra Color Demi-Permanent 10A + Kenra Demi-Permanent Coloring Crème Activator 9-volume + b3 Brazilian Bond Builder
- Formula C
- Simply Blonde Powder Lightener + 20-volume developer
- Formula D
- Kenra Color Demi-Permanent 8NA + Kenra Demi-Permanent Coloring Crème Activator 9-volume + b3
- Formula E
- Kenra Color Demi-Permanent 10A + Clear + Kenra Demi-Permanent Coloring Crème Activator 9-volume + b3
Steps
1. At the first session, apply Formula A one inch away from the root to the line of demarcation using foils. Process for 30 to 45 minutes, then apply Formula A (with 20-volume instead of 30-volume) at the roots.
2. Tone with Formula B globally.
3. At the second session, apply Formula C to the regrowth and process for 30 to 45 minutes, until you reach a Level 10. Pull Formula C through to any parts that are still yellow from the first session.
4. Shampoo with Kenra Brightening Shampoo to pre-tone.
5. Apply Formula D to the roots (to create a shadow root) and Formula E to the mids and ends.
