From rich shades of mocha and lucious latte-esque blends to subtle hints of caramel, we are seriously loving the rise of coffee-inspired hair. The latest take on this trend comes from Massachusetts-based colorist Justine Landfriend (@thefaithfulblonde). Find out how she created this bright caramelized balayage in the steps below!

Steps

1. Paint babylights around the front hairline using Formula A.

2. Then, balayage with Formula B around the whole head. For lighter pieces of hair, apply Formula C instead.

3. Pretone with Oligo Professionnel Blacklight Blue Shampoo, then tone with Formula D.

4. Apply Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger Styling Treatment Oil, then blow-dry.

5. Create curls using a 1¼ inch BaByliss Pro curling iron, then finish by spraying Paul Mitchell Hot Off The Press and Paul Mitchell Hold Me Tight.
