Here’s how BTC Team Member Farhana Premji (@xo.farhana.balayage) balayaged, melted and glossed her client with Redken Shades EQ to create this stunning buttery blonde.
The Formulas
- Formula A (balayage):
- Redken Flash Lift Lightening Powder + 20-volume developer
- Formula B (melt):
- Redken Shades EQ 07NB + Shades EQ 08V + Shades EQ Processing Solution
- Formula C (gloss):
- Redken Shades EQ 09AA + Clear + Shares EQ Processing Solution
Steps
- Using micro-thin, horizontal slices, heavily saturate the midlengths with Formula A, connecting the new growth with the previous-lightened ends. If needed, feather the lightener at the roots and only softly saturate the ends to keep hair strands protected. Work up the head in clean, organized sections.
- Process 35 to 40 minutes, then rinse and apply a pH-balancing shampoo.
- Apply Formula B at the roots, combing through and melting down toward the midlengths. Let process for 10 minutes, then rinse.
- Gloss all over with Formula C and process for five to eight minutes. To finish the color application, rinse, treat and condition.
- If needed, trim the ends, then blow-dry smooth and wave with a 1¼-inch Hot Tools Professional Curling Iron to style.
